- Enjoy unboxing your new purchase! (Be sure to remove the labels and packaging first.)
- Wash your Le Creuset product in hot water with dishwashing liquid, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Using a paper towel, apply a little vegetable or corn oil to the entire non-stick coating on the inside surface. When you’re done, rinse your product with hot water and dry it thoroughly.
- DO NOT apply vegetable oil to the black exterior wall.
- Protect yourself – Always use oven mitts when handling any hot cooking utensil.
- We recommend using Le Creuset silicone or heat-resistant plastic tools. Metal tools should be used with caution. They should not be used roughly or sharply on the non-stick surface. Be careful not to knock your metal tools on the top edge of non-stick coated products to avoid damaging it. DO NOT use electric mixers or blenders, knife blades or sharp instruments on the inside of non-stick coated pans and cookware to avoid damaging it.
- Use the most appropriate size hob for your product. This will allow you to obtain more even cooking and avoid damaging the handles and walls. This is particularly true for induction hobs: if you use the wrong size hob, it may not “recognize” the product.
- Never slide the product on a glass hob, this could damage the base of the utensil and scratch the glass. It is best to always lift your utensil to place it, remove it or move it.
- Never place your product on the lower base of your oven, this would result in faster and uncontrolled cooking which could cause damage.
- Always allow the product to cool for a few minutes before cleaning. When the product is hot, do not immerse it in cold water or fill it with cold water, as the extreme difference in surface temperature would create a thermal shock that could damage it.
- To prolong the life of the non-stick coating, it is advisable to clean your utensil by hand with dishwashing liquid and hot water rather than putting it in the dishwasher.
- Do not use abrasive or metal-coated sponges or hard-bristled scrubbing brushes on any surface of your product.
- After washing in the dishwasher, the cooking surface must be re-prepared before each use, to maintain the non-stick properties.
- To avoid damage to the coating, use a utensil guard between products when stacking for storage.
